Dear Cactus Cycling Club Members

From your Board and fellow riders, we hope you all are well and safe in the midst of these really unusual times. The CCC Board met this week and has some announcements for members. First and foremost, we want to let you know that the annual meeting and party for 2020 has been cancelled. There was a super level of planning by the Social committee as they considered your feedback in planning this year's meeting. Sadly, as with so many other things in our daily lives, we have seen the effect of the ongoing COVID 19 issues. The Board is committed to you as members and your participation in the Club. Any changes is our current operations will be  communicated to you as quickly as possible.

We are also still in the mode of no posted/scheduled rides, however we know that connections are being made with smaller groups of members and we applaud this! To keep the club spirit in an informal way, the Board has considered alternative ways to encourage safe cycling. Please check the website for more specific details. In short, there will be a series of SAG supported routes over the next few weeks and members who are riding in the area are offered the opportunity to drop in at the SAG supported route stop where you will be met by the supported route host. We will have simple snacks and drinks available to riders. There will be no officially "posted/scheduled" rides as we have in the past. Rather there will be a specific site hosted by a Cactus club member along a common route, and the host will be in place for a specified period of time. Members choose their own routes, start times, and companion riders, or may choose to ride alone. We ask that when coming to the SAG stop, please have and wear a mask and observe social distancing. We expect  to have east and west side supported routes and these will be listed on the website. Wear your CCC jersey/kit and let people see your club affiliation. Supported routes  at this time are for members only and NOT open to the public. I will look forward to seeing you on any or all these supported routes.

Take care,

Bill Koehler, President
